Monzù Restaurant and Cin Cin Bar at Hotel Punta Tragara

The new project designed by architect Giorgia Dennerlein with Loto AD Project focuses on the dining areas of the boutique hotel Punta Tragara, redefining their identity through a carefully curated selection of materials, finishes and furnishings. The design preserves some of the interiors’ most distinctive existing elements, pairing them with new additions to create spaces characterised by a rich decorative language and recurring references to the tradition of Capri’s hospitality.

In the main dining room, several existing elements continue to define the character of the interiors. The Roman mosaic remains the focal point of the space, while the white lacquered moulded canopy emphasises its architectural structure. The large arched windows and the iron veranda maintain a direct connection with the outdoors, reinforcing the continuity between the interiors and the surrounding landscape.

Among the new additions is the breakfast presentation counter, featuring a red and grey granite top and an inlaid wooden structure with bespoke mouldings. The element integrates naturally into the existing setting, contributing to the renewal of the dining rooms.

The veranda and lounge bar are characterised by particular attention to materials and craftsmanship. The Fior di Pesco marble flooring is enriched with terracotta-coloured glass ceramic inserts, while the walls alternate three-dimensional mint-green glazed majolica tiles with moulded wood panelling, partly clad in Vienna straw. Vases with botanical textures, striped fabrics and Murano glass lamps complete the setting.

A selection of furnishings combining classic elements with more contemporary designs further defines the character of the interiors. Inlaid mahogany tables, onyx tops and ergonomically shaped seating create a richly articulated ensemble that responds to the different functions of the spaces.

The same attention to materials, colour palettes and details characterises the Cin Cin Bar, conceived as an intimate setting rich in visual references. At the centre of the composition is a work by Catanian artist Alessandro Florio, whose Mediterranean symbols and colours provide the inspiration for the choice of wall coverings, fabrics and lighting fixtures. The circular rug and blown-glass lights contribute to creating an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.

Completing the experience is Willy Rizzo’s Gin Bar, which introduces references to the 1970s through furnishings and finishes with a strongly decorative character. Gold-leaf and ceramic side tables, together with fringed poufs, define a setting built around visual references and evocative details, recalling the character of a contemporary Wunderkammer.

With this project, architect Giorgia Dennerlein and Loto AD Project renew the spaces of the Monzù Restaurant and Cin Cin Bar through a contemporary reinterpretation of the history and identity of Punta Tragara, giving the interiors a renewed expression while preserving their original character.
